In this chapter, I present different visualization styles using a façade study as an example. Starting from an existing photograph, I designed two alternative façade versions and visualized each one in its own distinctive presentation style.
Kollage
The collage aims not to depict the project in a photorealistic manner, but rather to convey it on a more artistically free level. The architecture is accurately represented in its cubic forms and within its context, while the style of representation deliberately deviates from realistic depiction.
Through its creative and often abstracted approach, the collage emphasizes not only the spatial qualities of the design but also the mood and atmosphere of the project. It successfully communicates the concept and vision of the building in an emotional and artistic way, without getting lost in the detail-oriented precision of photorealistic rendering.
Rendering
This is different with an atmospheric rendering, which aims to realistically convey the spatial experience and mood of a project. The architecture is depicted with high precision, with particular attention paid to lighting conditions and materials.
In contrast to the collage, which embraces artistic freedom, the rendering remains more realistic and provides an accurate impression of how the building might appear in reality. It is intended to communicate the spatial impact and atmosphere of the design, giving the viewer a tangible sense of the future project.
